FORESTRY AND MINING PROTECTION OF NIGERIA is a Nigerian Uniform Organization, duly registered and approved on the 31st day of May 2021 as Limited by Guarantee with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

We have been patented by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment and also received approvals from other relevant agencies of government with the responsibility to protect the Mining Sector and to also mediate intending Mining conflicts between the Host Communities and the Mining Companies in Nigeria.

Our Vision

To protect the Mining Sector in Nigeria and to also mediate between the Host Communities and the Mining Companies.

Our Mission

To create a formidable 21st-century Security assurance in the minds of Mining Companies, local and foreign investors in the Mining Sector, by establishing a professional Security Corps and setting up Corps formations in all the Mining Host Communities to Promote Peace, Tranquility and Economic growth in Nigeria.

Our Mandate

TO PROMOTE THE SENSITIZATION AND EDUCATION OF CITIZENS ON THE DANGERS OF ILLEGAL MINING AND THE PROTECTION OF FORESTRY AND MINING.

Our ObjectivesObjectives

  • To Promote The Sensitization And Education Of Citizens Of All Ages On The Dangers Of Illegal Mining On The Health Of Citizens.
  • To Educate And Train Youths On How To Be Vigilant And Assist Security Agencies By Reporting Illegal Mining Activities In Their Areas And Possibly Seek Ways Of Empowering The Youths Through Creating Employment Opportunities.
  • To Educate Host Communities And Citizens On The Need For Peaceful Resolution Of Mining Related Disputes And Encourage Miners To Promote The Provision Of Corporate Social Responsibilities In The Areas Of Portable Water, Health Facilities, And Educational Institutions Amongst Others.
  • To Promote Safe And Decent Forest Practices By Educating Host Communities On The Benefits Of Decent And Proper Forest Uses In The Overall Safety Of The Communities.
  • To Do All Such Things As May Be Considered Incidental Or Conducive To The Attainment Of The Above Objects Or Any Of Them.

Units, Cadre, Ranks and the functions in the Organization.
OFFICE OF THE COMMANDANT-GENERAL (CG):
  • The Commandant-General is the Chief Executive of the Corps. He/She is responsible for the running of the entire Corps.
FINANCE/ ADMINISTRATION UNIT (FAU):
  • Deputy Commandant-General (DCG), Finance/ Administration: He/She is a Level 17 Officer and is mandated with the administration of Finance and Personnel in the Corps.
OPERATIONS UNIT (OU):
  • Deputy Commandant-General (DCG), Operations: He/She is a Level 17 Officer in the Corps and is saddled with the responsibility for the Operations of the Corps.
SPECIAL DUTIES UNIT (SDU):
  • Deputy Commandant-General (DCG), Special Duties: He/She is a Level 17 Officer of the Corps and is given the responsibility of the projects and other special assignments of the Corps.
LEGAL UNIT (LU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Legal: He/She is a Level 16 Officer of the Corps; he/she heads the Unit and is given the responsibility of legal management of the Corps.
CORPORATE AFFAIRS UNIT (CAU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Corporate Affairs: He/She is a Level 16 Officer of the Corps and he is given a mandate of the management of Media and Publicity of the Corps.
MEDICAL UNIT (MU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG) Medical: He/She is a Level 16 Officer who is a Medical Doctor by profession and he/she is the head of the Medical Unit of the Corps.
CHAPLAINCY UNIT (CU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Chaplaincy: He/She is a Level 16 Officer of the Corps. He/She is saddled with the responsibility for the Corps' spiritual management. There are two (2) sections of Chaplaincy in the Corps: (1) Christianity and (2) Islam. Both are at the same level and have the same responsibilities.
INTELLIGENCE UNIT (IU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Intelligence: He/she is a level 16 officer of the Corps, saddled with the responsibility of Intelligence management of the Corps.
MEDIATION UNIT (MDU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Mediation: He/she is a level 16 officer of the Corps, and he/she is strategically responsible for the day-to-day policies and programs of Mediation to ensure peace and tranquility between the Host Communities and the Mining Companies.
EDUCATION UNIT (EU):
  • Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Education: The Unit is headed by a seasoned professional educationist who is also a level 16 officer in the Corps. He/she is responsible for the management of the personnel training academy.

Forestry and Mining Protection of Nigeria works hard to promote the sensitization and education of all citizens against illegal mining and also to provide job opportunities for Nigerians.
